1. On Monday I got struck down by the flu. (And yes, I did get my flu shot; not fair!) I am prone to colds and allergies, but this was my first flu in years. Not fun. You'd think I'd get a lot of reading done while lying in bed, but no: I pretty much just slept and whined and occasionally drank watered down Gatorade or sipped at lukewarm cup o' noodles soup. I hope you all have had healthier weeks!
(And that's why this isn't Friday Five, because five things seemed a tad too ambitious.)
2. Another thing I didn't do a lot of while languishing was write. It's too bad, because I was doing a great job of meeting my November word count goal. Hopefully I'll catch up this weekend. Kudos to all the NaNo people, who continually inspire and impress me with their word counts!
3. Up next for me to read, now that I'm recovering, is Marianna Baer's Frost. I am so up for some suspenseful YA. In addition to sounding wonderful, it is a book that President Obama is said to have purchased for Sasha last summer during a bookstore trip. That is pretty much my life goal right there, to have a U.S. president and/or first daughter read something I wrote.
How was your week?

Oh no! I've only ever had the flu once, and I never want to have it again. I'm glad you're feeling better, and I hope it won't be too hard to get back to your word count goal. You'll have to let us know how you like Frost!
Yuck to being sick - glad you are on the road to recovery!
I typically find that to be the worst part of being sick: all that down time in bed and no clear head or happy (coherent) feelings to work with. Sometimes a good, big book will suffice though!
The flu SUCKS. I hope you are feeling better. <3 I also have heard great things about Frost - I hope you put up a review. I want to know if I should read it or not ;) again feel better Rebecca!!!!! The flu stinks - drink and sleep lots.
Being sick sucks. I hope you feel better soon! As for writing, I've been getting very little done toward my NaNo project over the past few days and I don't have any excuse. Feel better soon! :)
Glad you're feeling better, although it really does play havoc with the word count. Miss one day and it's like OMG I'M SO FAR BEHIND.
Also, that is majorly cool about the President and now that's my goal too lol.
Oh, no... being sick is NO FUN. I don't get the flu vaccine because the one time I did, I got the flu. Go figure... Anyway, I hope you feel MUCH better soon. Enjoy FROST. I've heard it's fantastic!
Glad you're feeling better now!
And I bet your book has a better chance than most for becoming first family reading material--it's only a matter of time :)
I hope you're feeling better!!
Glad you're feeling better.
Your book will be perfect first family reading, and Obama will still be in office to buy it for his daughter (yay!)
Hope you feel better! And yes, your book? Definitely up next on the First Family reading list I´m sure :D Oh maybe they´ll even invite you!
