Currently

It's my turn for the Currently meme, which I'm borrowing from Katy Upperman via Jessica Love via Kate Hart via Amy Lukavics via this post. Whew! (And a whole slew of other writers/bloggers since I started this post.)

Loving: PUMPKIN EVERYTHING! I know, this is the eleventy-billionth time I have brought up my love of pumpkin, and it's only September 17th. I like fall, okay? I enjoy root vegetables and orange-colored things make me happy.

Reading: I finally finished Roanoke: Solving the Mystery of the Lost Colony, which I was reading as research for a project. (Thanks, Jennifer!) I'm excited to get back to reading fiction, and I'm starting with The Butterfly Clues.

Watching: Not much, honestly. I've been spending all my free time researching and writing. (And being outside while the weather is still lovely.) I'm thinking of starting to watch Homeland, though. Do any of you watch that show? Thoughts?

Thinking About: My newly started WIP. I'm in obsessive plotting mode, big time.

There are 200 councils nationwide!
Anticipating: Starting my new volunteer gig as a coach for Girls on the Run. Have you heard of this amazing organization? It's a life skills development program for 8-13 year old girls. In part through training girls for a celebratory 5K run, the program teaches lessons about healthy body image, leadership skills, and positive self image. I'm so excited to be a part of it! Mainly because I enjoy hanging out with tweens and I love running, and I've been craving a way to get more involved in volunteer work for a while.

Wishing: That I had three extra hours each day: one more for writing, one more for reading, and one more for sleeping. Also that I won the lottery, which is a stretch as I generally do not buy tickets. And you kind of have to play to win.

Making Me Happy: Playing around with this month's Birchbox, which showed up in my Saturday mail. Getting a package + beauty samples + the element of surprise = fun, small indulgence. You will love Birchbox if you were one of those kids who loved buying grab bags or getting a mystery prize. This month I got some yummy tea, a facial scrub, tinted moisturizer, the new Kate Spade perfume, and some chartreuse nail polish. (In all honesty, though, that color is not working for me. It looks a little too gangrenous. But the ming blue that I got in last month's box is awesome!)

Your new coaching gig sounds fun! And I also would like a few extra hours. I got up early this morning to get stuff done and I'm still way behind - darn Mondays!

I'm a pumpkin-aholic too, and it is not too early to be obsessed with it. No worries there.

That volunteer opportunity sounds fantastic! What a great way to get involved. :)

I love this meme so maybe I'll do it on Wednesday!

I love pumpkin everything too. Had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season over the weekend. Can't wait to eat my first slice of pumpkin pie!

I love your Currently...post! Also, my friend organized Girls on the Run for my daughter's school one year and my daughter participated and it was such a wonderful thing - for self-esteem, for running, for activity! Yay for you!

Also, I LOVE pumpkin everything! Especially because I just love the crispness of this time of year and every time I smell pumpkin, I feel like FALL. :)

This volunteering idea sounds wonderful! Go you for getting involved! :D

I´m very intrigued by Roanoke, and now very intrigued about your project...

And yes for Pumpkin, and for FALL --> love that season :D

Ooh, also very interested in Roanake! If you figure out a way to get those three hours, let me know.

I'm a sucker for anything fall, too. For me, though, it's apples. I swear, I could eat an entire tree in one sitting. They're so much better than grocery store apples. And this is me wishing fall were the longest season.

Also, THANK YOU for the introduction to Birchbox. Such a cool idea and I'm a beauty product junkie so even better. :)

Homeland! So, so good! We flew through the first season, and I can't wait for the second to begin in a few weeks!

Girls on the Run sounds like a fantastic organization. I hadn't heard of it before, but I think I'll look into seeing if there's a subsection in my area. What a fantastic cause!

Loved your Currently... post, Rebecca!

I LOVE HOMELAND! It's seriously so good. And Damian Lewis is ridiculously hot, which makes it even more fun.
