All the Fall Things

What I'm excited about for the season:

Apple orchards: This year, we are not going to try apple-picking after a freak October blizzard, though.

Frozen apples, anyone?

Pumpkin everything: I know I complained recently about the too-early appearance of pumpkin, but now that it's after Labor Day I am embracing it. It's one of my favorite colors/flavors/smells. Heck, I even like the texture of pumpkins, too.
Long runs: I still try to run outdoors in the summer, but when it's 97 degrees with 67% humidity--that's not happening. Crisp fall weather is the best time to run. The best day to run? The day before the NYC marathon, when they have set up the finish line in Central Park. I like to run under the banner and pretend that my 6 miles were 26.2. (Someday. . . .)

Central Park fall colors

School supplies: It doesn't matter that I'm not a student; I still love to buy new pens, notebooks, and desktop organizers. I'm starting a shiny new first draft this week, so whatever gets my butt in my desk chair, right?

New books: I'm excited for BURN FOR BURN (9/18), THE DIVINERS (9/18), TEN (9/18), MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY (9/11). Also, Elizabeth Fama's MONSTROUS BEAUTY released on Tuesday. Go buy it! It was wonderful.

Love this cover

What are you excited about for fall?

I'm with you on the pumpkin-y goodness and school supplies. :) This is my favourite time of year and it's largely due to those two things and the changing leaves. Also, I'm not going to complain for a moment about the slightly cooler temperatures.

I didn't realize that THE DIVINERS was coming out so soon. I'm really excited now that I know that! :)

I'm looking forward to seeing reds, oranges and golds everywhere. The crunching of leaves on the streets and Halloween lurking around the corner. I can't wait to get out the sweaters and scarves! =D

I've got my Frosted Pumpkin Yankee Candle, yummy. It's my favourite scent, but it didn't feel right to use it in Spring and Summer, despite the disappoint English weather.

I love pumpkin anything but have really been craving a pumpkin spice latte. :) There's something about the fall...

Yes for all of these things! I love pumpkins, too, and we're going to go to the apple orchard this year for sure!

That first photo of the orchard is nuts! Way too early for snow!

This fall, I'm excited to pull out my fun fall decor, watch college football (Go Cougs!), and eat yummy, pumpkin-y desserts.

Enjoy those cooler long runs, Rebecca!

Fall is my absolute favorite season so I'm excited about all of these things (even the running! I'm still a beginner but it'll be nice to run outside again instead of at the gym). Yay!
